About Me

As a writer, Diane enjoys combining words and ideas, letting all flow into a whole creation that has never before been seen or heard. Writing enables her to record her experiences, to clarify what she has lived through, and to gain new perspectives on the ups and downs. Writing, like music, unites the abilities of the right and left hemispheres of the brain. She loves learning a new word, reading a new book, exploring a new thought.

Diane has worked as a Medical Lab Technologist in Quebec, algologist in the Turks and Caicos Islands, French and Physical Education teacher in Ontario, and ESL teacher in Miami and Scarborough. With a partner, she built a 46′ sailboat and chartered it in the Caribbean. Most recently, she ran a sprout business for five years in Port Hope.

Memoir Writing Workshop. Diane’s next ten-hour course in writing memoir is at the Cobourg library: October 20 and 27, and November 3 and 10 from 1:00 to 3:30.  Maximum 12 people. Topics cover where to start, tips on how to access memories, how to write a good anecdote, possible formats and much more. We listen deeply to each other’s stories. There is great depth of meaning in these stories, and over 30 reasons for recording them. Register to reserve a seat at 905-885-9709.
